Memory data register. It is used to store information written to or read from main memory.

The timing system. It is used to generate a variety of timing signals, all of which are obtained by the unified CLOCK frequency division.

Microoperating signal generator. According to the content of IR (instruction) and the content of PSW (status information), various control signals needed to control the whole computer system are generated, and its structure has two kinds of combinational logic and storage logic.

The working principle of the controller is to form the control signal used by the various components of the current computer according to the instruction operation code, the execution steps of the instruction (microcommand sequence) and the conditional signal. Each hardware system of the whole computer works cooperatively under the control of these control signals to produce the expected execution effect.

The internal registers of the CPU can be roughly divided into two categories: one is the register visible to the user, which can be programmed, such as the general register group, the program status word register; The other class is the user invisible register, transparent to the user, can not program such registers, such as memory address register, memory data register, instruction register.
