Cavitation of low pressure air separation liquid oxygen pump
In the full low pressure air separation equipment, sometimes it is found that the outlet pressure of the centrifugal liquid oxygen pump suddenly drops, and the liquid oxygen cannot be discharged. The liquid oxygen pump cannot continue to work. Often called this phenomenon "gas", this liquid oxygen pump "gas" phenomenon, the technical term is called "cavitation". 2. Principle of cavitation produced by liquid oxygen pump
When the pressure of the liquid is below the corresponding saturated vapor pressure, the liquid will vaporize. This situation is easy to produce in the cryogenic pump, when the liquid pressure at the inlet of the impeller blade is reduced to equal to the saturated vapor pressure at the temperature of the liquid, the liquid oxygen begins to boil and vaporize, so the generation of bubbles in the liquid. The liquid containing bubbles flows along the centrifugal force direction of the impeller, and when it reaches the region of increased pressure in the impeller (that is, the pressure outside the bubble is higher than the corresponding vaporization pressure region), the vapor is cooled again. Because the pressure outside the bubble is very large, so when the bubble condensation, the liquid around the bubble at a high speed towards the space occupied by the bubble, in the region of the impeller surface on the local impact effect (that is, the occurrence of strong water percussion phenomenon). This is commonly known as the cavitation of the liquid oxygen pump. Factor 2.
