Modicon 140NOE77101 Overview The Modicon 140NOE77101 manufactured by Schneider Electric is a communication module for use with the Quantum PLC and is used to communicate over an Ethernet network.  It is an Ethernet option adaptor made to fit into a slot on the Modicon Quantum Ethernet module. The 140NOE77101 is installed into a backplane on the standard Modicon Quantum module. The 140NOE77101 firmware configuration key features:

The 140NOE77101 is an Ethernet network TCP/IP module manufactured by Schneider Electric, which is used in Material handling, packaging, and textile machines usage.  Here are some key points to keep in mind when working with the 140NOE77101: The 140NOE77101 firmware configuration key features include an integrated 10/100BASE-TX, full duplex capable, shielded twisted pair port and an integrated 100BASE-FX multimode, full duplex capable, fiber optic port. As shipped from the factory, the 140NOE77101 configuration does not contain an IP address.  When the 140NOE77101 module starts up, it will attempt to obtain an IP address from the network’s BOOTP server. You can use Concept to assign an IP address, default gateway, and sub-network mask.  You can also assign IP address parameters using the BOOTP Lite software utility. On startup, an unconfigured 140NOE77101 module will attempt to obtain an IP address by issuing BOOTP requests.  If there is no BOOTP response received in two minutes, the 140NOE77101 module will use the default IP Address. If you have just received the Schneider 140 NOE 771 xx module but have not yet programmed it with an Ethernet configurable extension, you will need to assign an IP address to your module.  Using the BOOTP Lite software utility, you can assign IP address parameters.  [0] The 140NOE77101 does not support the NTP service.  Though the NTP Service is in configuration Model Family, it is only supported by 140NOE77111. If the Ready LED is on and the Kernel LED is on, it requires a new NOE exec. The 140NOE77101 module will test for duplicate addresses by sending broadcast ARP requests three times at 5-second intervals.  If a duplicate IP address is found, the module will stay offline to avoid a network disruption and display a pattern of four flashes. The 140NOE77101 can be replaced by the 140NOE77101.  The difference between these two modules is that the 140NOE77101 also includes bandwidth monitoring, faulty device replacement, enhanced web diagnostics, and global data.
