Honeywell CC-TAOX11 Experion PKS System Module

CC-TAOX11 is a Honeywell analog output module used in PLCs for process control.  It is not related to RMI or distributed objects.  TAOX11 is a CORBA implementation for C++11 that supports the IDL to C++11 language mapping. CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is a middleware technology that enables distributed computing.  It allows objects to communicate with each other even if they are on different machines.  CORBA uses IDL (Interface Definition Language) to define the interfaces between objects.  IDL is a programming and platform-neutral language. Java RMI (Remote Method Invocation) is a Java API that allows objects to invoke methods on objects running in another JVM.  RMI uses stub and skeleton objects for communication with the remote object.  A remote object is an object whose method can be invoked from another JVM. RMI-IIOP (Remote Method Invocation over Internet Inter-ORB Protocol) is a Java API that provides CORBA distributed computing capabilities to the Java platform.  It allows Java objects to communicate with CORBA objects using IIOP (Internet Inter-ORB Protocol).  IIOP is the message protocol used by ORBs (Object Request Brokers) to communicate in CORBA.
