The cFP-DI-304 (Part number: 777318-304) is a Digital Input Module for Compact FieldPoint developed by National Instruments. This module is used to monitor voltage levels of the signals. The module is compatible with cFP devices. The module is interfaced with the Compact FieldPoint backplane. The cFP-DI-304 offers isolation between modules. This feature protects the Compact FieldPoint system/controller from high voltages. The cFP-DI-304 is mainly used for monitoring limit switches, power circuits, and relay closures. The module is also compatible with TTL devices. The cFP-DI-304 Digital Input Module features 32 digital input channels. The impedance of the digital inputs is 30 kΩ. The input channels of the module are the sinking type. The module works over a range of 0~30 VDC. Also, the device has 2 analog output channels. The National Instruments cFP-DI-304 offers a continuous isolation of 250 Vrms between its channels and backplane. However, channels of the cFP-DI-304 are not isolated from each other. This model can withstand a transient voltage of the 2300 Vrms for 5 seconds. The cFP-DI-304 has an indication light on each input channel. The input module has two additional indication lights for POWER and READY status. All these indication lights are green. The module is powered by the network module. The required power of the cFP-DI-304 1 watt.

The cFP-DI-304 module is compatible with modules having 24 VDC power. To protect the module from damaging, the cFP-DI-304 is equipped with a current-limiting feature. The module can update all channels at a rate of 1 kHz. The complete data throughput is based on network speed and software. The device should be externally calibrated at least once a year. It is equipped with a 68-position VHDCI female I/O connector. The cFP-DI-304 weighs 6.81 oz. It has recommended operating temperature ranges of –40 to 70 °C and –40 to 65 °C with system mounted upright and system mounted in other orientations respectively, a storage temperature range of –55 to 85 °C, a non-condensing humidity range of 10 to 90% RH, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
