Detection speed sensors can be divided into the following two categories and these two different categories of sensors their operating principles are not the same.

First, magnetoelectric speed sensor

Magnetoelectric speed sensors are one of the most common types of sensors in vehicles.

The working voltage strength and frequency are related to the rotation speed, the higher the rotation speed, the stronger the induced electromotive force, the magnetoelectric speed sensor is actually equivalent to an alternator, therefore, the magnetoelectric speed sensor is formed by alternating current.

Because the working voltage is generated by mutual inductance between the two, the installation gap should not be too large, generally between 0.3-2mm.

This type of sensor is commonly used on the crankshaft and camshaft of the engine to calculate the rotational speed of the engine and judge the cylinder, and some speed sensors on the automatic transmission also use this form of sensor.

Second, the speed sensor

The Hall-type velocity sensor is a sensor which is made by the principle of Hall effect.

Hall effect is that when the current passes through the semiconductor substrate in the magnetic field and the direction of the current is perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field, the charge shifts to one side under the action of the magnetic field force, and forms a working voltage proportional to the current and magnetic field on the transverse side of the Hall element perpendicular to the current and magnetic field, and this working voltage is called Hall current
