1.1 Digital/analog signal difference The digital input/output signal is the switching signal, 1 or 0, Analog signals, there are two, voltage or current signals, generally the signal transmitted by the transmitter, such as the pressure transmitter to detect the pressure of the water pipe, it will output an analog signal 4-20mA or 0-10V signal to the PLC, PLC for data processing. The switching input point (DI) processes the switching input signal. Analog input point (AI), processing analog input signals (0-20mADC,0-5VDC). Resistance signal (including thermal resistance) input point, processing thermal resistance or general resistance signal. High-speed pulse input point, processing high-speed pulse signal. Voltage (including thermocouple) input point, processing voltage input or thermocouple signal. There is also communication, which is used to exchange data with the upper computer or control the instrument driver of the lower controller
1.2 Difference between digital and analog input modules
According to the difference of field input signal, the input module can be divided into switching input module and analog input module.
The function of the switching input module is to convert various switching signals into TTL standard signals required by the CPU. According to the input power supply type, it can be divided into DC input module and AC input module. The input signal is converted into TTL (5V) standard signal by photoelectric coupling after voltage division, current limiting and filtering.
The function of the analog input module is to convert the continuously changing analog signals such as temperature, flow, current, voltage, etc. into several digital signals that the CPU can process. The analog input circuit is generally composed of op amp conversion, mode conversion (A/D), photoelectric isolation, etc.
Types of PLC input and output modules: digital input DI, digital output DO, analog input AI, analog output AO.
Digital input and output are generally 24V.
There are 4 kinds of analog quantities in 2 categories, and the 2 categories are voltage type and current type respectively. Voltage type has 0-10V and -10 to 10V. Current type mainly has 4-20MA,0-20MA. Then the module converts the analog quantity into A number between +32767 and -32768 through A/D conversion, and then implements the control.

The output is converted into analog to various regulating mechanisms for execution, or the output is converted into a 2-bit do quantity to control some devices such as start, stop, on and off
1.3 Digital input/output module
The switching input module is the processing module of the external control signal or field detection signal to the PLC CPU, and the external signal is generally the button, the proximity switch, the travel switch, etc.
The output module is the PLC according to the input module input signal and internal logic programming logic processing, after processing the result, the switching output will be output by the output module high and low level signal, drive the external intermediate relay, contactor, indicator light, solenoid valve and other components, and then make the external equipment to carry out the corresponding action
1.4 Functions of the Output module
The function of PLC output module is to amplify the power of the output signal. The PLC signal is expressed by the level, so that it does not distort in the process of being read out, it needs to have a certain reserve energy or a certain signal power. The function of the output module is actually a power amplifier. The output module is what drives the external load.
Common PLC output devices are transistors, thyristors, relays.
The PLC input module is used to receive the various parameters of the production process. (start stop)
The PLC output module is used to send out the information obtained after the operation of the programmable controller, and complete all kinds of control of the industrial site through the actuator outside the machine. (Execution results with output) 1. Have good anti-interference ability.
