Description

The PXIe-5840 (Part Number: 783966-01) is a 2U, 2 Slot Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) developed by National Instruments. The NI PXIe-5840 is structured with 1 GHz real-time bandwidth on both the VSA and VSG. When compared to the first generation, there is a lot of space for other functionalities in this module. The PXIe 5840 has a high-speed serial interface, ranging up to 12.5GB. It can be used for passing data in and off the device. This module has an open FPGA. LabVIEW FPGA software can be used for a range of different applications, whether it is a digital pre-distortion or custom radar IP that can be deployed onto the device. It also has extended the frequency range up to 9 kilohertz. The National Instruments PXIe-5840 VST has Analog to Digital Converters with 14 bits resolution and a sample rate of 1.25 GS/s. For Digital to Analog Converters, the resolution is 16 bits and the sample rate is 1.25 GS/s. This module’s I/Q data rate is from 19 KS/s up to 1.25 GS/s for both converters. The operating temperature from is 0 °C to 45 °C with a relative humidity range from 10% to 90%. The NI PXIe-5840’s design is fully capable of solving the most challenging RF design. The PXle-5840 VST meets all safety standards for measurement, control, and laboratory use. This module also meets the Electromagnetic Compatibility electrical equipment standards. It has the dimensions of 4.1 cm × 12.9 cm × 21.1 cm and weighs 794 grams.
