The system provides an output voltage that is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, allowing both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values to be measured. The main applications of the system are fluid film bearing machines for vibration and position measurement, as well as critical phasor * reference and velocity measurement The 3300 XL 8mm system offers state-of-the-art performance in our vortex proximity sensor system. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5 meter system is also fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard (4th edition) for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy and temperature stability. The 3300 XL's SpringLoc terminal strip requires no special mounting tools and enables faster, more robust field connections by eliminating loose screw clamping mechanisms. Approach probe and extension cord The 3300 XL probe and extension cord are also improvements over previous designs. The patented tiploc * molding method provides a stronger connection between the probe tip and the probe body. The probe cable features a patented CableLoc* design that provides a 330 N (75 lb) pull force to more securely connect the probe cable to the probe tip. Extended temperature range application Extended Temperature Range (ETR) probes and ETR extension cables can be used in applications where probe leads or extension cables may exceed standard 177°C(350°F) temperature specifications. The ETR probe has an extended temperature rating up to 218 ° C (425 ° C). eextension cables are rated up to 260°C(500°F). Both the ETR probe and cable are compatible with standard temperature probes and cables, for example, you can use the ETR probe with a 330130 extension cord. The ETR system uses a standard 3300 XL Proximitor sensor.
