Description

The National Instruments PXI-4065 (Part Number: 780011-01, 190310G-01L) is a 300 V, 6½-Digit PXI Digital Multimeter.  This module can create 2 wire or 4 wire resistance, AC/DC Current, AC/DC voltage measurements, as well as diode tests.  This model is considered an ideal choice for educational laboratories, OEMs, or other cost-conscious measurement and test applications.  The PXI-4065 6.5 Digit DMM has excellent trigger characteristics since it can receive various types of input triggers through PXI Trigger lines and AUX I/O connector (auxiliary connector) generated at 200 ns minimum pulse width.  This module can also output triggers at 1 μs pulse width and 3.3 V logic level. The PXI-4065 is run using the NI-DMM driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWIndows/CVI, Microsoft Visual C++, and Microsoft Visual Basic.  It has a power consumption of <3 W from the PXI backplane, <0.12 W at 12 V, <1.5 W at 5 V, and <0.5 W at 3.3 V. As far as its AC or DC system speed characteristics are concerned, the National Instruments PXI-4065 offers 10/s DC range or functions changes, 200 ms auto range time for DC Voltage and Current, <1 μs trigger latency, and 2.5 kHz maximum trigger rate.  It has a DC voltage range of -300 V to 300 V, and a DC current range of -3 A to 3 A.  This DMM can handle 10 MΩ input impedance in parallel with 200 pF, 3 x 107 V-Hz maximum Voltz-Hertz product, and 250 V maximum DC voltage component.  By design, this PXI DMM is a 3 U, one slot, PXI module and its physical dimensions are 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm.  In its standard configuration, the NI PXI-4065 DMM weighs around 351.5 g (12.4 oz.) and consumes <3 Watts of power from the PXI backplane.   This module takes around 30 minutes to warm-up entirely.  The NI PXI-4065 has a calibration interval of one year, and the module is a Measurement Category II rated device.  It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, and a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C.
