The PCI-4070 (Part number: 778275-01) is a high-speed 6.5 Digit Digital Multimeter Device by National Instruments. This FlexDMM is compatible with PC-based systems. The PCI-4070 DMM is specifically designed to perform high-resolution measurements, but can also be used as a digitizer. As a DMM, this device measures AC/DC voltage, currents, and resistances. A diode testing option is also available in the PCI-4070. This device is ideal for automated tests in an R&D environment and on the production floor. The PCI 4070 has a basic DC voltage accuracy of 25 ppm. The device operates using the NI-DMM driver software (version 3.0.2 or later). The software is compatible with application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Microsoft Visual C++, and Microsoft Visual Basic. The PCI-4070 Digital Multimeter has 12 built-in measurement functions and built-in self-calibration. While this device is in the isolated digitizer mode, it can measure both AC and DC-coupled waveforms in all voltage and current modes. The isolation feature allows users to measure differential waveforms with high levels of common-mode voltage. If the user utilizes LabVIEW with the isolated digitizer feature, then they have the capability to assess transients, fly-back signals, and more. While utilizing NI LabVIEW and NI-DMM driver software, the user can increase the resolution of the Digital Multimeter Device to 7-digit performance at 5 S per second. This rate is four times the resolution of a standard 6.5 digit Digital Multimeter. In DC mode, this model has resolution options of 7, 6.5, 5.5, 4.5, and 3 digits. The device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C. The maximum sampling rate of the DMM depends upon the selected resolution. It increases with low digit resolution. The PCI-4070 has a maximum sampling rate in the range of 5 S per second to 1.8 MS/sec. The maximum trigger rate in the DC mode is 06 kHz. The sampling rate in the AC mode is from 0.25 S per second to 1.0 kS per second. In AC mode, the maximum trigger rate of the PCI-4070 is 1 kHz.
