The NI cFP-RTD-122 (Part Number: 777318-122) is a flexible module for Compact FieldPoint, which can be utilized to measure thermocouples, millivolt-level voltages, thermistors, and 2-, 3-, and 4-wire RTDs. The cFP-RTD-122 is ideal for obtaining temperatures with extreme preciseness. The device has 8 input channels. The Compact FieldPoint platform is meant for industrial control applications that complete advanced embedded control, data logging, headless operation, and Ethernet connection. This module has 16-bit resolution for precise measurements. The user can link straight to industrial sensors or units under test with the safety isolation function of this module. The device has consumes 350 mW of power from the network module. The NI cFP-RTD-122 mounts on to a Compact FieldPoint backplane, which delivers functioning power to the module. This Temperature Input Module has eight input channels, which have a common ground reference that is separated from other modules in the FieldPoint system. Every channel pulses a 0.25 mA excitation current out of the EX+ terminal. Then, the excitation current comes back through the COM terminal. The SENSE terminal then measures resistance and makes up for lead resistance mistakes. Next, every channel is filtered and sampled by a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter. The NI cFP-RTD-122 module can also be utilized to measure resistance in ohms. The user can complete measurements from RTDs of types that the module does not directly support, including 120 Ω nickel RTDs. The cFP-RTD-122 weighs 3.7 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of –40 to 70 °C and –55 to 85 °C respectively, a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%, random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz. The temperature input module is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 3121-1, UL 61010C-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.

If the signal obtained by the terminal acquisition module is not these standard signals, but also through the transmitter conversion, after the standard signal enters the A/D module, it will be converted by A/D into a number, the specific range is different PLC is not the same, these converted digital quantities, can be used by the program, conversion, processing, and finally get the required data displayed.
