For most reliableoperation, the communication and controltasks are split into separate controllers.The non-volatile flash memory of the AVR storesevents and data logs to enable fault analysis andfast trouble shooting. Time synchronization isdone over Ethernet communication, and theevents and data logs are time-stamped. UNITROL® 1000 is provided with moderncommunication ports like Ethernet and USB forconnection of the PC-based commissioning toolCMT 1000. Besides it is possible to power up the controllerof the device via USB port. Thus the user candownload files or configure the device even whenno input power is available. The AVR output stageis based on proven IGBT technology, which allowsAC and/or DC voltage inputs from differentsources.
