Features: • Single Slot, C-Size VXI Module • 64-Ch High-Speed A/D Converter • Scans 100k Samples / Second • Eight SCP Module Slots The Agilent E1413A, E1413B, & E1413C are 64-Channel High-Speed Scanning Analog-to-Digital Converters with optional per-channel signal conditioning in a single width VXIbus module. They scan up to 100,000 channels per second, while autoranging and converting the readings into Engineering Units (EU). The reading stream is routed to a 65,024 reading FIFO buffer, while the latest reading from each of the 64 channels can be quickly accessed from a Current Value Table (CVT). All readings are returned to the FIFO and CVT in IEEE 754, 32-bit floating point format either with EU conversion or as input voltage. Channel selection is controlled by four scan lists which can contain up to 1,024 channel assignments each. Another list called the "List of Lists" can reference each of the scan lists (1 through 4) up to 1,024 times. The E1413 also provides on-board calibration sources to allow on-line, single command, all-channel calibration. The module can also compensate for system wiring offsets. The E1413 can accept any mix of up to eight Signal Conditioning Plug-ons (SCPs). All of these features can be accessed with the SCPI and Compiled SCPI instrument languages.
The Agilent Technologies E1413C 64-Channel Scanning A/Dis a C-size, 1-slot, register-based VXI module. It isdesigned for high-performance data acquisition andcomputer-aided test applications. The key requirements ofthese applications are high-speed scanning, 16-bitresolution, high accuracy (0.01% of reading), 4 mV to 16 Vfull-scale input (60 V with Agilent E1513A attenuator SCP),64 kSa dual-ported FIFO buffer for fast data transfers,current value buffer for on-line monitoring, and automaticself-calibration. The available ranges are determined by the SCP used. AnSCP is required for every input. Each SCP normally suppliesinput signal conditioning for eight (8) channels. See theindividual SCP Data Sheet for more information. The unique design of the analog subsystem provides a newlevel of density by combining a 16-bit A/D with a 64-channeldifferential FET multiplexer. Up to eight SignalConditioning Plug-ons (SCP’s)—most with eight channelseach—can be added to the E1413C to provide additionalcapabilities (i.e., direct input, 10 Hz low-pass filtering, fixedgain/filter per channel, etc.).
Multifunction Measurement Capability This module provides multifunction measurementcapability within individual scans without anyconfiguration re-programming. These include dc voltage,temperature, resistance, and strain. Comprehensive Signal Conditioning On Board A full range of signal conditioning is provided by optionalSignal Conditioning Plug-on daughter boards (SCPs) thatmount inside the E1413C. Most SCPs buffer the signal to bemeasured and filter or amplify it before presenting it to theE1413C’s FET multiplexer and A/D converter. Otheravailable SCPs provide more advanced functions such assample-and-hold, and strain bridge excitation andcompletion.
