Description

The ProLinx EtherNet/IP to PROFIBUS DP Slave Gateway creates apowerful connection between devices on an EtherNet/IP network anda PROFIBUS master device. This stand-alone DIN-rail mountedprotocol gateway provides one Ethernet port and one PROFIBUS DPSlave configurable DB9F port. The Ethernet/IP protocol driver supports the Explicit Messagingimplementation of the protocol. User-configurable as both a Clientand a Server, the EtherNet/IP port is a very powerful data transfertool. The PROFIBUS DP Slave protocol driver supports the PROFIBUSV0 Slave implementation, providing powerful data transfer capabilitybetween the ProLinx module and Siemens PLCs or other hosts. Userconfigurable data mapping and DP port operation make the interfacean easy to use and powerful data transfer tool.

EtherNet/IP The EtherNet/IP protocol is one of the primary connectivity tools tothe different Rockwell Automation platforms. The Explicit Messagingaspect of the protocol (only) has been implemented in the ProLinxunits to provide the data transfer link between the ProLinx units andthe Rockwell Automation hardware EtherNet/IP Client Specifications In Client mode, the module controls the read/write data transferbetween the gateway and other EtherNet/IP devices. Data transfercan be initiated and executed without any ladder programming beingrequired in the Rockwell Automation hardware. PROFIBUS DP Slave The PROFIBUS DP Slave driver gives access to the ProLinx unit'sinternal database via 244 bytes of Input data and 244 bytes of Outputdata (maximum 400 bytes total). These Input and Output data blocksare mapped by the user within the ProLinx module's data memoryallowing the user maximum flexibility and data transfer with otherprotocols.
