It is utilized for processor-intensive, modular instrumentation, and data obtaining applications. The PXIe-8135 incorporates two 10/100/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit) Ethernet ports, two high-speed USB ports, and four high-speed USB ports, along with an integrated hard drive, serial port, and other I/O. The device has a maximum controller bandwidth of 8 GB per second. This model comes with mulitple part numbers and various configurations based on operating system and additional attributes. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.

The NI PXIe-8135 Controller incorporates two methods for reestablishing the original factory condition of the user’s hard drive. Hard drive-based recuperation stores a separate part of the hard drive, enabling the user to reestablish their controller without extra media.
