With its “plug in and spin” design, the Aries family of compactdigital servo drives requires no set up. Users simply attach themotor and the drive automatically configures. Available in fourversions (100, 200, 400 and 750 Watts), the Aries family givesusers a robust and cost-effective digital servo product – usersonly pay for the level of performance they need. Unlike thecompetition, the Aries family is designed with open architecture, so it can be used with any manufacturer’s motion controller and servo motor. The Aries is a torque-only drive. It accepts 5-24 VDC digitalinput with optional AC control power input. With its Flashbased operating system, the Aries can be upgraded in the field.Circuit protection includes motor-short protection (phase-tophase and ground-to-ground), ESD protection (logic andcommunication inputs and outputs), short protection (logic andcommunication outputs) and over-temperature protection (driveand motor thermistor/thermalswitch). The Aries family is designed with open architecture in mind so it can be configured for use with any manufacturer's motion controller and servo motor.
The Aries comes standard as a torque-only amplifier but is software selectable to run in velocity mode. An optional step-and-direction version is also available for users replacing stepper systems or not wanting to change their current step-and-direction command interface. Additional benefits can be gained when the Aries servo drive is used with’s ACR9000 multi-axis controller.
