Discrete input modules are used by Programable Logic Controller (PLC) such as the ControlLogix system to interface to the process or machine and receive each individual input’s binary state that is OFF and ON. This is necessary as Allen-Bradley controllers begin logic execution by examining the status of inputs including the signals wired to the 1767-IA16I. This module is compatible with any ControlLogix processor. It is also compatible with any ControlLogix communication adapter for implementing Remote I/O application. This module uses a 36-point Removable Terminal Block (RTB) for wiring signals and allow modular replacement of a defective module without the need of full rewiring. As the channels of this module are individually isolated, each channel has individual common which allows the module to be used in application where direct AC commons are existing. This module has front panel indicators that provide status of each channel. Whenever a channel is supplied with an appropriate signal, the dedicated LED indicator will be activated to confirm that the signal is received by the module.
