Pulse Accumulator module Model 3515 Pulse Accumulator Input (PTI) module provides 31 bit counters operated independently by 32 individuals. The counter is used together with an active flow sensor or unit sensor to measure a quantity transmitted to the main processor. During the time control program specified by TriStation, the main processor clears either a single counter or all counters. The PTI module has three isolated input channels. Each input channel independently processes all input data and passes it to the main processor, where it is voted before processing to ensure the highest integrity. Each PTI module provides complete diagnostics for each channel in progress, including counting between channels to compare any diagnostic failures on any channel, which activates the fault indicator, which in turn activates the chassis alarm fault indicator to point to the channel fault, not the module fault. This PTI module is guaranteed to run in the presence of one person and may continue to run in certain types of multiple failures. PTI modules can be operated with or together with no hot spare modules. If you use a hot standby module, it re-educates everyone on the counter values from the active module.
