The MVI56-MNETC module is a ProSoft Technology TCP/IP client communication module. It is fully compatible with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processors. The module comes with a 10/100 Mbits RJ 45 Ethernet port, and an RJ 45 CFG port that allows for an easy interface with Modbus devices. This communication module is backward compatible and it is specifically ControlLogix backplane compatible. The module is powered with a backplane current load of 800 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and 3 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The front of the MVI56-MNETC module has LED indicators for the battery status (ERR), application status (APP), and the module status (OK). A 4-character screen on the front of the module shows the module number, version, IP, application port setting, port status, and the error information. The operating temperature of the MVI56-MNETC module should be between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, and the module can be stored at a temperature between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius when not in use. The communication module is able to withstand shocks of 30 g in operation and 50 g when it is non-operational. The MVI56-MNETC module comes with user-definable data memory mapping that can support up to 5000 15-bit registers. The module supports ladder logic and add-on instructions for data transfers between the module and the processor. The MVI56-MNETC module supports 10 independent server connections by using Service Port 502 (MBAP) or Service Port 2000 (Encapsulated). It can accept different Modbus function codes. The communication module can offer one client connection with up to 100 commands communicating with multiple servers.
