Description
CPU: The CPU module varies based on memory and whether redundancy is supported. Each CPU has two Ethernet ports for connection to workstations, engineering stations, management stations, or advanced applications. These Ethernet ports can be set as redundant to improve system availability. The controller is also equipped with two RS232 ports for debugging tools or communication Communication Modules: Next to the CPU module, a series of communication modules or I/O modules can be added. For example, additional RS-232C interfaces can connect more external systems or devices. Profibus DP, DP/V1 interfaces allow S800, S900 I/O systems to be integrated in a remote I/O way and support Profibus-compliant products and devices on the market.
