The WOODWARD 8701 - 758 is a digital speed governor that can be used to control steam turbines.
- Startup Sequence and Temperature Input: It has an automatic startup sequence for both hot and cold starts, with a temperature input option, enabling corresponding control according to different startup conditions.
- Critical Speed Avoidance: It can achieve the function of critical speed avoidance within the three-speed range, preventing problems such as resonance during the operation of the steam turbine and ensuring the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
- Alarm and Trip Indication: It has ten external alarm inputs, which can be connected to external sensors or devices to monitor various operating parameters in real-time. When an abnormal situation occurs, it can provide trip indication through trip and alarm events with relevant RTC timestamps, facilitating operators to promptly detect problems and take measures.
- Speed and Load Control: It has dual speed and load dynamic functions, which can accurately control the speed and load of the steam turbine according to the actual operating situation, ensuring stable operation under different working conditions. At the same time, it also has a zero-speed detection function, which can accurately determine whether the steam turbine is in a stopped state. In addition, it supports remote droop and frequency deadband functions, which can be flexibly configured according to specific application scenarios.
- Operation Modes: It provides three normal operation modes, including the configuration mode, operation mode, and calibration mode.
