The basic form of communication is to establish an information transmission channel (channel) between the source and the destination to realize the transmission of information. The basic components of point-to-point communication system include six parts: information source, converter, channel, noise source, anti-converter and beacon.
(1) Information source
Information source refers to the information source that generates various information (such as speech, text, image and data, etc.). It can be the person who sends the information, or it can be the machine or device that sends the information, such as a computer or sensor. Different information sources constitute different forms of communication systems.
(2) Converter
The function of the converter is to convert the information sent by the source into a signal suitable for transmission in the channel. Corresponding to different information sources and different communication systems, the converter has different composition and conversion functions. For example, for the digital telephone communication system, the converter includes a microphone and an analog/digital converter, etc. The function of the analog/digital converter is to convert the analog voice signal output by the transmitter into a signal suitable for transmission in the digital channel after the analog/digital conversion, coding and time division multiplexing processing.
(3) Channel
A channel is the medium through which signals are transmitted. The channel can be divided into wired channel and wireless channel according to the type of transmission medium. In the wired channel, the electromagnetic signal is confined to a transmission line (such as cable, optical cable, etc.). In wireless channels, electromagnetic signals are transmitted along space (atmosphere, troposphere, ionosphere, etc.). The channel can be divided into analog channel and digital channel according to the form of transmission signal.
(4) Anti-converter
The function of the anti-converter is to convert the signal received from the channel into the information that the receiver can receive. The function of the anti-converter is the opposite of the converter, which plays the role of reduction.
(5) Shinshu
The destination is the receiver of the information, he/it can correspond to the source to constitute a person-to-person communication or machine-to-machine communication, or it can be inconsistent with the source. Constitutes person-machine communication or person-machine communication.
(6) Noise source
Noise source refers to the equivalent result of various interference effects in the system. The noise of the system comes from various parts, from the surrounding environment that emits and receives information, the electronic devices of various devices, to the external electromagnetic field interference of the channel, which will have a noise effect on the signal. In order to analyze the problem conveniently, the interference existing in the system is generally converted into the channel and represented by the noise source.
